Water Cooling System Treatment for Government Facilities

Cooling towers, chillers, and closed loops provide efficient cooling with a relatively low energy cost in large government facilities. While they have low energy costs, they will have significant replacement or repair costs. As such, it is important to maintain them with regular water treatment.

Many municipal buildings utilize water cooling systems. Given that the size can vary greatly depending on whether it is a small office or a large complex, the equipment and chemicals utilized for them will also vary greatly.

Water Treatment Chemicals Government Cooling Systems

  • Biocides- Chardon recommends dual biocides, oxidizing and non-oxidizing. This allows the system to fight both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, as well as the sturdy biofilms that protect them.
  • Scale Inhibitors- The scale layers and rings that form around the surface in cooling systems take a long time to form. It can take as long to remove these as it took to form, therefore it is recommended to regularly treat the scale to keep it from forming in the first place.
  • Oxygen Scavengers- Corrosion can deteriorate systems over time and these chemicals work by removing oxygen from the water, preventing the rust-forming reaction from even occurring.
  • pH Adjusters- Acid and alkalinity builder chemicals can optimize the pH level for your cooling tower, chiller, or closed loop systems. The pH level that we determine is optimal for your specific setup will also be catered towards the chemicals we feed, and the number of cycles before we flush the system.

Equipment Utilized in Cooling Systems

Centrifugal Separators
Controllers
Pumps
Modems (Remote Monitoring)

  • Centrifugal Separators They are highly effective at filtering contaminants in water. We custom-build all our centrifugal separators in-house at our corporate facility. Additionally, they take up a small fraction of the space that sand filters make.
  • Controllers- We utilize reliable controllers that require the least amount of maintenance possible. Our service technicians are trained in a wide variety of brands and models and can recommend the right fit for the job.
  • Pumps- The pumps we utilize inject the correct amount of chemicals into cooling systems and work in conjunction with our timers to make sure it is done at the correct intervals.
  • Modems (Remote Monitoring)- We offer remote treatment for many of our service offerings, saving you money on unnecessary labor costs and allowing important data to always be accessible.

Government Boiler Water Treatment

Boilers and hot water loops are a common heat source for many government buildings, whether it is a small building with an old boiler system and cast-iron radiators or a massive facility with multiple 15-foot boilers. All commercial boilers need regular chemical water treatment to avoid costly issues and to run efficiently.

Boiler Inspections for Government Facilities

High-pressure boilers require inspections every 6 months or year based on state and local boiler inspection laws. Downtime, safety, mechanical failures, and efficiency issues are all considerations for someone performing a boiler inspection. Here at Chardon Labs, we will ensure that corrosion, scale, and other waterside issues will not cause damage to your boiler. We are so confident in our ability to deliver on our services that we offer a Scale-Free Guarantee. This is if you follow our minimum equipment/service recommendations.
